Middle School

Our school aims at the all-round development of a child’s personality i.e. to bring a practical and positive change in his behavior. This is done through academic and co-curricular activities. To achieve this aim students are provided basic and general knowledge of languages ( to develop linguistic skills), Mathematics, Sciences and Computers etc. correlating it with practical life,  so that they can apply this knowledge in day to day life. All the students are consistently evaluated for their performance.

 

Assessment for Classes VI, VII and VIII from 2017-18

 

Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes VI to VIII as explained below:

Class VI : 10% of 1st terms covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd  terms

 

Class VII : 20% of 1st terms covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd  terms

 

Class VIII : 30% of 1st terms covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd  terms

Subject Enrichment Activities: These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities are carried out throughout the term, however, they will be evaluated at the end of the term.

 

Languages: Aimed at equipping the students to develop effective listening and speaking skills. The language teachers devise their own methods and parameters for the assessment of the languages.

 

 

Mathematics: For the activities in Mathematics, certain resources are used as suggested  by the CBSE.

 

Science: Practical work and activities in Science are undertaken as suggested in the NCERT Syllabus and Text Books along with the relevant material provided by the CBSE.

 

Social Science: Map or the project work is undertaken as suggested in the NCERT Syllabus and Text Book.

 

 

 

Co-Scholastic Activities (Classes VI-VIII): For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out by the teachers and will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair). Regularity, participation, output and teamwork would be the criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities:

 

  1. Work Education - Work Education refers to skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community

 

     (b) Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)

 

     (c) Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC etc.)

 

Discipline : The students are also assessed for discipline which will be based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respect for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)
