The assessment structure and examination for classes IX and X are same.
Subject Enrichment Activity
|Board will conduct Class-X Examination for 80 marks in each subject||Periodic Written Test, restricted to three in each subject in an Academic year. Average of the best two tests will be taken for final marks submission||
This will cover:
Neatness & upkeep of notebook
Speaking and listening skills
Speaking and listening skills
Practical Lab work
Maths Lab Practical
Map Work and project Work
Grades Scale for Scholastic areas: Grades are awarded on a 8-point grading scale as follows –

Three periodic tests will be conducted. (a) First Periodic Assessment (b) Half Yearly Exam and (c) Second Periodic Assessment for Class IX and Pre-Board Exam for Class X. The best two of the three tests will be selected and the marks calculated out of 10. For each test the cumulative syllabus will be included. The gradual increase in the syllabus for each test would prepare students to acquire the confidence for appearing in the Board/Final exam that will include 100% of the syllabus.(ii) Notebook Submission (5 marks):
Notebook submission as an important part of internal assessment aims to make students serious about assignments and taking notes carefully during classroom teaching. It addresses an important aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.(iii) Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks):
These are subject specific activities aimed at skill development. These activities will be recorded internally by the respective subject teachers.
For English/Hindi: Activities should aim at equipping the students to develop effective speaking and listening skills.
For Mathematics: The listed laboratory activities and projects as given in the prescribed CBSE/NCERT books.
For Science: The listed practical activities as given in the prescribed CBSE/NCERT books.
For Social Science: Map and project work as prescribed in the CBSE curriculum.(B) Co-Scholastic Activities:
Co-curricular activities are to be carried out for the holistic development of the students. These activities will be graded on a 5-point grading scale (A to E) and will have no descriptive indicators. No upscaling of grades will be done.Regularity, participation, output and teamwork would be the criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities:
Work Education or Pre-Vocational Education - Work Education refers to skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community
(b) Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)
(c) Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC etc.)
Discipline : The students will also be assessed for discipline which will be based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respect for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 5-point grading scale (A to E).
