An Excursion to Udaipur-Kumbhalgarh

St. Anne’s School organized an excursion for the students of classes VI to VIII in March 2018. It was a four day trip where students visited the lanes of history of Mewar region of Rajasthan while travelling through Aravali mountain ranges. The trip started with the saga of Rana Khumbhal in Kumbhalgarh and via Udaipur it ended with the visit to Haldi Ghati portraying the tales of sacrifice and love for the motherland.

The visit to Fort Kumbhalgarh was an exciting learning experience for the students. It was followed by light and sound show showcasing the saga of the fort and its various brave rulers. In Udaipur students visited Monsoon Palace of Sajjangarh and nearby Biological Park where they had a splendid sightseeing over the wildlife including Lions, Tigers, and Bears etc. Students also visited Udaipur City Palace and Vintage Car Museum where they saw magnificent collection of Rolls-Royce, Mercedes and Vauxhall etc., the famous glass work of Ruby Palace, ornamental tiles of Chini Mahal, paintings and artifacts displaying the magnanimous history of the place. They also had fun at the Toy Train Ride at Gulab Bhag and the Cable Car Ride on the bank of Lake Pichola. The car ride took them on the top of Machhala Hill to view the sunset in beautiful lush green hills across the lake. The tour to Udaipur city ended with a blasting DJ party where students danced to the music like there is no tomorrow.

The trip concluded with a visit to Moti Dungri – Pratap Smarak and Musuem and speed boat ride in Fatehsagar. The return journey via Haldi Ghati spoke the valour of great soldiers of the region, where students also visited a Private Museum built by a School Teacher based on Historic events and legacy of the Mewar Dynasty.
