Do not allow your fire to go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet and the not at all. -Ayn Rand Overwork, juggling schedules and exhausting lifestyles, have lately stifled our ability to react. Are we even living or barely existing _ is the main concern. We all need a break from our crazy work scene and need to find the real we. Exploring our own selves can be one such thing before the spark in our heart goes out permanently. For the length the human race has lived, people have struggled to define life. Even today, scientists have no satisfactory definition of life. We tend to define our lives based on our perception of progress. Am I where I thought I should be? Is my life successful? Are my dreams more or less real today? These are the weights we carry to uplift our life. In reality, life is never defined by performances or circumstances. What really makes any life worth living today is the presence of LOVE. The love for life, the love for the self, the love for even the smallest of the things is LIFE. I ardently believe that we all have lost that 'Self Love'. In a nutshell, self love is a prerequisite to loving everyone out there. Loving yourself is a win-win for all. It provides you with inner happiness, confidence and peace of mind. It enables you to be more genuine towards others and to be of greater service to the world at large. And lastly, it helps you to create the world of your dreams. So start favouring yourself for a positive life- 1- Start your day with positive thoughts. Prepare the list of your tasks for the day and take a step ahead. 2- Surround yourself with people who encourage you and love your deeds. 3- Stop making comparisons. There is no one like you on this planet, you are extraordinary. The only person you should compare yourself with is your own self. 4- Step outside your comfort zone and try something new. Pursue new interests and take a break for them. 5- Celebrate your wins, be it small or big. Pat yourself and be proud of who you are. Life indeed has no well defined meaning, but self love can be a cause for a meaningful life. Written by _ Devangi Singh, 12 C
