Report on the Inter-class English Debate 2025

Participating Classes: XI and XII

                                               

An Inter-class English Debate for students of Classes XI and XII was successfully organized on 8 September 2025. The event's primary objective was to serve as a platform for students to not only enhance their public speaking and rhetorical skills but also to foster a deeper sense of perception and discernment on critical contemporary issues. The debate proved to be an invaluable exercise in intellectual and academic growth for all participants.

Debate Topic

The proposition for the debate was: "DEMOCRACY COULD SLIDE INTO AUTHORITARIANISM WITHOUT A STRONG AND VIGILANT OPPOSITION."

This topic prompted a thought-provoking and engaging discussion, requiring the speakers to present well-researched arguments, articulate their points clearly, and engage in respectful rebuttal.

The competition was a closely contested affair, with all speakers demonstrating a commendable level of preparation and conviction. Participants delivered compelling arguments both for and against the motion, showcasing their ability to analyze complex political concepts and communicate them effectively. The debaters' fluency, confident body language, and mastery of their subject matter made for an exceptionally high-quality event.

After a meticulous evaluation of the performances by the judging panel, the results of the debate are as follows:

  • First Position: Aaditri Vyas (XI C) and Rudrakshi Prajapat (XI F)
  • Second Position: Urvi Mehta (XI F) and Khushi Kalla (XII A)
  • Third Position: Hetal Choudhary (XI B), Divyanshi Vyas (XI C), and Komal Mewara (XI E)

The Inter-class English Debate was a resounding success. It highlighted the impressive talent and intellectual maturity of the students, encouraging them to think critically and engage in constructive dialogue.
