INTER-CLASS ENGLISH DEBATE, 2024-25

  • Wed,04 Sep 2024

On 31st August, Inter-Class Debate was organised for classes XI and  XII in the School Auditorium.  Dr Abraham John, one of the founding members of St Anne’s presided over the event.

The proposition for this year’s debate was ‘The Concepts of Compassionate Capitalism and Efficient Socialism are Untenable’. As is the custom, the event began with seeking blessings of the Almighty and welcoming our very own Abraham Sir. First it was the participants of class 12, who presented a diverse range of views on the topic and the students of class 11 came up next. All the participants performed wonderfully and showcased strong arguments, both in favour of  and against the proposition. The debate was concluded by the announcement of the results by Abraham Sir.
In class 12, Kinjal Maheshwari stood third, the second position was secured by Vishwajeet Singh Rathore and Abhinav Ojha came first. In class 11, it was Aaditri Vyas who stood first,  the second and the third position was secured by Nishee Singh and Khushi Kalla, respectively.

This year’s debate showcased the reality of the system of individual profit and the brutalities that it comes with and gave insights on how socialism can be worked in to benefit the poorer sections of society and control consumption.
